Hey Shawn, I just want to thank you ! You are incredible. My husband caused a DUI accident in October where he had my 18 month old son in the front seat with a seat belt on .. No car seat. The car flipped and was totaled . Luckily My son had no injuries. I am divorcing my husband - you spoke today and he was there. I hope he understands now what could have happened / and also why I am divorcing him . It's about me and my babies!!!!
Not the classical "Near Death Experience" but a great story otherwise on a very couragious lady and her coping with so much trouble in her life. Great inspiration for all of us and demonstrates that with a strong faith we can surmount the greatest of advertisies.......
Unbelievable. This lady has gone through so much, and has emerged stronger and wiser. She is to be commended. She has more guts than most of us. I wish her and her children, God's blessings ALWAYS.
Remarkable woman! I'm so sorry for your losses but so happy that things are going so well for you and your family. You truly are an inspiration and a great role model for your children. I'm so sorry for all the tragedy that this family suffered, but I am glad to see that they were able to somehow pull through. The difficulties that I'm going through now seem miniscule. I can't complain about my life at all!
Marvelous story - another shining example of having the inner strength, ambition, and willingness to work hard that is needed to make a success of one's life no matter what the circumstances. Shawn Brown and the other entrepreneurs mentioned in this "Success Stories" section of Huffpost didn't let adversity stop them. They didn't continue to sit on their butts and holler "Why me?!?" They did something about it! They didn't even go the Little Engine route: They didn't say "I think I can, I think I can." They went beyond that into "I know I can, I know I can" - and they did it!
Shawn you said "I figured if I had another opportunity, I had to make the best of it and change the direction of my life. I just said if I'm here, this time I'm going to go for it. I'm going to do everything I can to have the best life I can."
It's tragic and heartbreaking that you had to lose loved ones and through it all you've handled everything with grace, maturity, compasion, resolve and love.. and as your friend.. I have to say.. I LOVE YOU for it..
